The Gidon Templar

Maintenance Corridor

Sometimes diplomacy doesn't work. Sometime a drink is less than friendly. Tempers flare and things get a bit heated. Since fighting is not permitted inside Crescents or any area within the Meridian Casino and Hotel Resort Complex, security is alert for when tempers flare. The advice is always the same. "Take it to the blue."

But what is this 'take it to the blue' that the big burly security guard is talking about? As he's escorting you to the elevator you recall that each level of the Meridian Complex has it's own color on the elevator level selector; red for the sleeping area, gold for the casino floor, green for Crescents garden area, cyan for Crescents Restaurant, purple for the Crescents Dance floor, and yellow for Crescents bar area. "And where exactly is the blue", you hazard to quip as the elevator doors open. The un-amused security guard reaches into the elevator and jabs an unobtrusive, unlabeled blue button that falls between the gold Casino floor button and the green of Crescents garden button. He withdraws from the elevator as the doors start to close. His last parting comment is, "Don't start anything in the elevator."

The elevator moves, silently dropping to the blue level. The doors open into a delivery type foyer where boxes of supplies are stored prior to being shuttled to their final destination. It is functional more than stylish. Instead of the music of other levels or the sounds of gambling, here the ears are accosted by a a mixture of mechanics and dishes, voices and laughter. Down the corridor a bit and through a keycard operated door, one would find the kitchens. There are storage areas and maintenance closets scattered wherever the architects of the station could fit them. Just outside the elevator doors, however, is room enough to settle most disputes that require upper body violence.

In truth, the Meridian Complex security officers don't much care what goes on in the Maintenance area since typically, the only people who use the area are hotel employees who know better than to let their tempers flare while on the job. If there is a big enough disturbance that draws the attention of the Meridian's in-house security, Greggor Intergalactic Management Security might be called. Chances are, they won't be.
