Crescents

To get to Crescents, the club at the top of the station, one first has to travel through the doors of the Meridian casino. It was designed to tempt the senses and whet the appetite. Appointed with some of the finest and most attractive materials, the main floor promised fun with each turn of the head, each flick of the eyes. The regulars knew the path well; through the slots, around the gaming floor, over a slight incline that provided a lovely view of the main gaming floor and finally skirting the Wheel of chance one found the bank of elevators that were destined for Crescents.

Inside the elevator, each destination is clearly marked with script, pictograph and color. Red indicates the sleeping levels of the resort. They would go down from the main floor of the casino. Gold represented the hopes and dreams of the Meridian main gambling floor. Next up was an unobtrusive and unmarked blue button. Trying to select it would get a beep and a gentle voice saying, "That level requires security override. Please select a valid destination."

The next button up from there, a green one, has a pictograph of a common plant to denote the garden level of Crescents. The garden level is the only full floor level in the multi-tiered club. It boasts live plants and humanely caged animals to provide a gentle, almost zoo-like experience for those needing some quiet time from the bustle of the casino or other areas of the club. A body could stand in the middle of the level and look up and see the open expanse of the stars. Surprisingly, no noise filters down from the other levels of the club. Each level is protected from the other by an advanced shielding technology that not only inhibits sound intrusion, it can also break the fall of the average of most species.

Going upward, the cyan colored button with the food symbol beside it is next. The restaurant boasts a private chef and dedicated staff. The menu varies from night to night and each creation is a symphony of flavor. From the exquisite to the simple, the Restaurant is sure to please. It is open 24 hours a day and is seated by a friendly Hostess droid. The level is a crescent itself, hugging the transparent outer skin of the station while allowing for the level below to have a clear view of the stars above. As a result of this clever architecture, every table has a lovely view of the stars, either at eye level or overhead.

For those looking for a bit more fun, the purple level is the Crescents dance floor. Keeping in line with the crescent theme, the dance floor also hugs the transparent wall but in a different section of the circle to allow for an unobstructed view out and up. There is a live band two nights a week and a programmable holo-band for the other nights. A full range of music is programmed to ensure the dancing pleasure of most species.

For those wanting just a drink and some down time, the top level is the best destination. Yellow on the touch pad in the elevator, the bar level is the very top of the station and the very top of the club. It is its own crescent shaped level and has the best view of the stars above. Bartenders are always on duty, either in humanoid or android form. The stock is continually replenished and is brought in from most known systems to ensure a wide variety of fresh drinks sure to please a wide range of tastes. Occasionally the bar level is treated to piano music from the carefully placed grand piano; sometimes it's a staff member, sometimes it's a guest who is tickling the ivories.

Whether it's relaxation, food, dance, or drink… Crescents has it all.

And remember, miners get a 25% discount on all food and drink items three nights a week.
