"I'd never do anything like that. I'm an art enthusiast, why would I vandalize something so beautifully made?" It could probably pass for a line, but there was something behind that grin on his face. 'Well here we are my lady, shall I escort you to the door like a proper gentleman, or is this where I get a peck on the cheek and a 'I had a really good time'?"

"But... I did have a really good time." She grinned.

And yet...

To be escorted by a proper gentleman... that was something foreign to Leun. So was the expression he held. It sobered her some, though not unpleasantly. Her lavender hues couldn't break from his.

There was something insulting about just leaving him with the second option. Perhaps that's exactly what she would've done with others, if they even made it near her front door. Kiss them quickly and ... running to hide behind and lock the door hoping to never see them again. There was something she could only describe as ... honorable in his gaze. Either he was really smooth, or else...

"I'd be honored if you'd escort me to the door." she heard herself graciously reply.

(Sorry for how extremely late this is. My modem died on me.)

"Then let me lead the way m'dear." He offered her his arm with an almost eternal patience, something to test a rock's resolve. Motionless and waiting as though he could stand there until all around them turned to dust and ruin.

Incorrigible as he could be, Sylus still had his own code that he seemed to adhere to rather strictly. He could seem unscrupulous and even callous in his business dealings but around here he was softer, gentler, doing his best to cast of the impulses of his people and react with the emotions her ever changing state required.

She held his gaze for several moments, all the while aware of his form in regal pose solely to entice her attention. It worked. Her grin warmed and spread like butter on a hot plate forcing lavender hues into mirthful crescent moons.

Leun slipped her hand underneath and round to rest in the crook of his arm. She played the part of formality well for someone untrained to do so. If only she knew how trained Sylus really was...

"Then by all means, Sir, lead away." her voice like royal velvet as she graciously inclined her head in reference to the task of escorting her to the door.

"You do know, every time that you call me 'Sir' I feel old?" A teasing grin as he escorted her to the door, oddly wondering how much trouble she'd be in for being so late. It was almost reminiscent of being a youth again.

"But alas, here we all. The joy ride is at an end and we two shall part ways."

She was aware of a devilish urge to say Sir every other word just to tease him. Yet she refrained, wondering if he were really that worried about getting old. He wasn't old.

"You're not old. Mature, yes... old no. I would never think so."

As they came to a stop in front of her door, she shifted to stand in front of him, facing him.

She couldn't hide it, she didn't want it to end. Still, she had to take care of her parents. A deep sigh escaped her while she accepted the inevitable.

"Thank you for bringing me home. But .. um... Don't let it be forever.... Okay?"

She moved up on her tippy toes and leaned in, planting a soft kiss to his lips. The door suddenly opened and she spun around.

"Oh thank the stars you're back finally! Where've you b...." the grey haired woman stopped in mid sentence catching sight of Sylus. To her, it explained much with the way Leuni's cheeks were turning red.

The old woman smirked and gently pushed her way out the door and past the two. "Oh never mind. You're here. I have to go. You let me know if you need me again, hun. I'lll be right next door."

The blushing Leun sent Sylus appologetic glances while darting pointed looks at the neighbor. She shifted out of the woman's way to let her pass by and then stuttered several times.

"Sorry... just... it's okay.. she'll.. I mean, thanks.. but I gotta get going.. and .." Leun was at a loss for words and lost trying to stagger her words between her neighbor and Sylus. She finaly just gave up as she darted inside and shut the door. It was from the other side that she finished her sentence with a loud voice. "and I hope to see you soon!"
She moved further in to attend her parent, hearing them in the other room.

"Such a peculiar Etonese..." shaking his head gently Sylus could only chuckle and glide back in the direction of the Vermillion whistling a merry tune.
