The following message comes in over the standard medical communications frequency.
"This is Commander Valeria Raxollen, Shield Lead, calling Le Remedium. We are en route to the Halcyon docking bay towing one disabled ship, one life sign aboard, weak and possibly injured. Requesting a medical team meet us in the docking bay, please." _________________ The truth is incontrovertible - malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it - but in the end, there it is. |

The receptionist jumped to internal communications and hooked up with the EMT's, even before she answered the call from the Commander.
"Attention: Code red - EMT's to Halcyon docking bays. Commander Raxollen is towing in a disable ship. One life sign detected. Prep for emergency landings and possibly more casualties. Size of ship was not specified. Team leader to call back for more info."
Her attention was fully back on the communication with Commander Raxollen. ""Commander Raxollen, this is Le Remedium. We'll send a medical team to meet you a.s.a.p. E.T.A in three to five minutes. What is your ETA and are there other possible casualties?"
The teams were scrambling with equipment and hover board like craft to speed their arrival. |

The Team had responded and more stretchers were called for as the body count was far more then anticipated. There was only one survivor aboard the craft after some kind of .. battle... had taken place aboard it. The only survivor was brought in on stretcher to Le Remedium.
He was quickly taken to the emergency section where more indepth care was given.... |

He was breathing hard. He grunted as he tried to remain awake. He would fill the doc in on everything that happened. He felt his side go numb then warm. Blood. It had eaten into his muscle. He tried to contain his yells. And he did well. She was doingher job, and he thanked her for it. _________________ ANCHORS AWIGH MY BOYS, ANCHORS AWIEGH.

With the patient in Le Remedium, they were quickly able to give Marex full attention and get his wounds tended to properly... neutralizing the poison and all. They were finally able to get the ooze to stop eating away at his flesh. Blood samples were taken to run various tests. All his wounds were cleaned, set and wrapped.
"Well, seems you had a bit of a battle on the ship there. At least we got the ooze to stop eating away at your flesh." Dr. Brandt was telling Marex as she was finishing up. "Normally we'd perform surgery, but I think I'll call someone else in. She can help speed your healing and do what surgery can't. Do you have any objections to an Anaoen or even a Halcyon treating you?"
"Not that anyone ever has but it would be a shame that I came all the way here on my day off, for nothing." Sha'uri grinned and opened the curtain that was giving the doctor and patient a small bit of privacy. She had a way of being around when needed. "I kinda sensed that I was needed here. All that comotion in the hangar bay.. Crazy."
Sha'uri shifted her smokey greys to the patient. Her hues filled with mirth and kindess. "I'm Sha'uri Le Larou, Nurse and Halcyon Adept at your service." she gave soft bow of her head. "So who's our patient? What happened? And..what can I do?" |

"I have...no problem with either. "
He laid there and closed his eyes. "Now to address the Doctors inqury. The Syndacu are a cross of Insectoid and Humanoids. They mutate a person down to the genetic level. A spore is carried by their true form and injected into the person via a stinger, anywhere they sting can mutate a person. the conciousness of the true form is transfered and the original body dies."
He looked to the Halcyon person. "Please..Heal me so I can hunt that slimey son of a bi..." He was cut off by slight pain in his side. _________________ ANCHORS AWIGH MY BOYS, ANCHORS AWIEGH.

"Are you saying you've been stung?" Dr. Brandt inquired. "Perhaps I should run scans for a closer look."
"I'll need the scanner and your guidance to pull it out if there is one. Surgery won't be necessary, nor will any prepping. I've got all I need already. I find the scanners useful to heal particular areas anyway, regardless if he's been infected or not. Please set one up anyway." Sha'uri informed her.
"Agreed." Dr. Brandt began to set up the scanner.
"Perhaps we're a little confused..." Sha'uri's voice was calm and soothing to Marex, something about it gave off warm and uplifting vibes, which had healing qualities to help normal healing abilities to work faster. Aquil often told her she had the voice of an Angel. At this point, There wouldn't be much of a difference to notice except the slight sensation of pain lessening. "....and you should stay laying down, and be calm. Let me see if I got this right. These Syndacu can transfer themselves, rather their consciousness, into another host by using their stinger spore injected into the new host. Once completed with transfers then they kill off the old body, is that right? Do you think you have one in you?"
Dr. Brandt had the scanner set up and was now searching over the ribs area where the ooze had punctured through the armor and ate down into the flesh, and muscle. The image was showing on the monitor as she moved the scanning device. Lyla asked, "How big are these spore?" |

He sat up regardless. He didnt care , injured or not. "I havent been stung...My..." He fell quiet for a minute. "First Officer was stung...And the spore is tiny. The bug itself gets to be as big as a centimeter long. You dont realize you've been stung till you feel a numbing pain the base of our skull."
He looked to them and sighed. "The acid/poison is designed to infect a body and slowly and painfully kill its victim." _________________ ANCHORS AWIGH MY BOYS, ANCHORS AWIEGH.

Dr. Brandt hardly got the device started when he sat up, ruining the positioning "I can't get an image if you keep moving."
Sha'uri just kinda looked from the Doctor to the patient. A soft shrug was given. "She's got a point. This will go much faster if you lay back and hold still. I don't want to force you. And in fact, I won't." |

He laid back and sighed. He didnt like the idea of laying around when his crew was dead. He wanted revenge. _________________ ANCHORS AWIGH MY BOYS, ANCHORS AWIEGH.

"Thank you..." Sha'uri gently replied. "Try to relax... This won't hurt. In fact, it's like a gentle electric current that is warm and more like a massage... tingly."
The doctor quickly caught the image again. Sha'uri used the Flow to enhance healing in specific place as she began to direct it with the doctor's help. This was in addition to the slower form of healing enhanced by just her presence. He would probably feel a warm, tingly sensation massaging where ever she directed it. Right now it was directed on the place where the ooze had eaten away his flesh.
"Do you think there could be any Syndacu on your ship that we should be looking for? I mean, they don't play possum so convincingly that they might be overlooked, do they?" Dr. Brandt asked while Sha'uri continued concentrating on the healing. "If so, I can call the Halcyon.. and have them take another look. I hope none are playing dead among the casualties.... is that possible? The medics would be double checking that the bodies are dead before bringing them up this way. It's proceedure. However, if you feel we should take more precautions..." |

"Doc shut up and quite spazzing. Heal me so I can get hunting..."
He laid there and let them do what they had to do. _________________ ANCHORS AWIGH MY BOYS, ANCHORS AWIEGH.

The Doctor merely eyed him briefly but kept her attention on the scans. "That doesn't answer the question..."
However Sha'uri frowned while keeping her gaze on the scans and her Flow ability healing him.
"Did anyone ever tell you that you were impatient?" She smirked. "Usually... It's the doctors who make the worst ones. She's not the one healing you and I'm going as fast as I will dare. She also wasn't spazing, merely asking a very valid question. Perhaps I should slow down and really scan you for any of those spores...."
She drew those smokey hues away from the scan and looked at him with a bit of mirth.
"Come to think of it.. you haven't even answered one of mine. What's your name?" |

He sighed.
"My name is Marex Darune. And No...I havent been stung. And no....The creature is still on my ship. Locked in section twelve...Which will be cleaned by me..."
He looked to both of them.
"If thats not to much trouble..... I do have a score to settle with it." _________________ ANCHORS AWIGH MY BOYS, ANCHORS AWIEGH.

At the realization that something alive was still on the ship and overlooked... her brow quirked.
"Section twelve?.... I better tell them to stay away from there. EMT's are bringing out the bodies from your ship. Excuse me.."
She moved away to a com device on the wall and quickly informed the dispatch to relay message to the emergency crews ....
"Tell them to stay out of section twelve of that ship. I was told there was a dangerous spore like creature locked inside of there. Do not open anything locked."
She came back and sat down again, placing just a hand on his arm and resumed the healing.
"If I hadn't done that they might've tried to get into that section. I'm almost done here. Let me ask you this... Do you think it's wise to do that?" |
