So what do the facilities look like?

Each main treatment facility is built up along the same lines. In part because it makes sense and also to provide the physicians with a sense of familiarity as they are rotated from spot to spot. Lighting, ambient temperature and sound are kept at comfort levels to try and maintain a soothing aspect.

Each facility is headed up by a minimum of one doctor (usually a Department head is nearby as well) and the staff is then assigned on an as-needed basis. There are three main treatment terminals on Pharos, another fully staffed treatment center on Lemons as well as satellite trauma centers on the asteroids, Lemnos and Giaia Eiridis.

Staff - The main centers are equipped with General Practitioners, Specialists (Surgical, Pediatric (as needed), Internist and Xenospecialists) as well as a pair of Trauma Specialists who are generally on an on-call, emergency basis. In addition each main hub has a staff of medics, technicians, nurses and a team of Emergency Response Medics.

Reception/Waiting area: Each waiting/reception area is identical in its layout. A large half circle desk across from the door where the receptionist can see and check in each person as they arrive. Couches, chairs, stools and coffee tables are scattered throughout the large room, some in small conversational areas, others lined up or set two-by-two for those who have no wish for social chit-chat. There are several view screens that loop the current news and adverts for places and things on Pharos.

Refreshment Corner - There is a small area to the right of the receptionists desk where those who need coffee, various teas, water or juices may get them complimentary.

Bathrooms - As with many bathrooms on the station, it is unisex with several stalls for privacy and a row of sinks lined in the middle. There are no urinals. The bathroom is to the left of the receptionist desk at the end of the wall where it connects to a hallway leading off to the Emergency Treatment rooms.

Examination Rooms: Depending on the function and size of the facility there are 3-8 examination rooms that let off the small corridor behind the reception desk. These are primarily for general office visits and are of a comfortable nature with cushy seating, pleasant decor and all around homey feel. Each Exam room is furnished with an examination table, 3-4 chairs, a vid-screen that'll show news or a choice of entertainment programs while the patient is waiting, a small box of toys for children. There is a small terminal for the doctors use. Records are maintained digitally and usually viewable on the screen as they are recorded.

Emergency Treatment rooms - These rooms are equipped slightly different from the other examination rooms. They are generally smaller with no frills such as view screens to show news or entertainment programs, and there are no toys for kids to play with. Chairs are given at a minimum, usually just one or two at most for people accompanying the patient, if that is being allowed. Some situations don't allow for it. It is set up to quickly and efficiently treat emergency needs of a patient. There is an assortment of treatment equipment often used in emergency situations. There are generally 5-15 of these rooms in each center.

Surgical Theaters are maintained in each main facility, with 2-4 fully outfitted Operating Rooms and 1-2 stand-by rooms for emergency/overflow use.

Patient Rooms - These are the bedrooms set up for the patients who must stay longer then an general office/emergency visit due to more serious conditions. There are generally 20 to 100 of these rooms, depending on the Center, to accommodate anywhere from 1 - 20 patients at a time per room. Most of the rooms are set up for 4-6 patients. These rooms are actually on a different level from the main Center, located above or below depending on the Center. Entrance to these levels is restricted to the main entrance of the facility, although for emergency purposes there are other ways out through doors that are set up with emergency triggers to sound alarms and unlock the otherwise locked doors. These can only be triggered from the inside by forcing down the bar that blocks it.

Crash Rooms- So called by the On Call staff. The Crash rooms are set up for the on-call and on-duty doctors use. They are essentially small, fully equipped efficiency suites to allow the staff to rest when they can. Each main facility has 2-4 such rooms/suites.

Staff Suites- Dormitory like blocks for the use of staff in the satellite areas. Only non-married, unaccompanied staff are authorized use of the dormers. 4 beds per room, with space for storage and a central galley for general use.
