General Comments
Pharos Station is primarily a commercial hub and mining support station. It is not designed or armed for war. Greggor Intergalactic Management armed it enough to keep it secure from wandering pirates but didn't give it anything too cutting edge. The Repulsor Grid costs a lot of energy so it's not used unless dire emergencies require it. They also maintain a squadron of fighters. Many security officers and other personnel man these fighters in times of defense of the station or various outposts as well as to aid in the occasional rescue operation. Beyond the typical security, it's a grey line. There have been rumors that there are times when Greggor Intergalactic Management Security turns a blind eye to things going on when it was in the best interest of the company to do so.

The station has it's own gravity via generators and it's own rotational movements.

Greggor Intergalactic Management has been marketing the station and system as tourist destinations for years; the station has a number of entertainment options as does the moon, Gaia Eiridis. Aboard Pharos, the Meridian casino hotel & resort is only one entertainment venue. There are independent gym facilities, zero-g recreational areas, sim-pod facilities and other entertainment spots as well as regular businesses all leasing space on the station.

There are more touristy items nearer to the Meridian. There are more functional (i.e. budget) berths located farther away from the Meridian. Crescents is located at the top of the station. The outer horizontal ring handles docking, mechanical operations, and a good number of storage needs. The inner horizontal ring handles station operations, commercial ventures along the business concourse and a few secondary, private docking berths. The central hub of the station is where Station Operations and Greggor Intergalactic Management business is handled. The vertical ring is largely housing and storage facilities.

There are rumors that there are a number of 'shady' dealers on the station. Not everyone is above board and on the right side of the law. It is rumored that Eli Ramachi (Chicory) uses the Meridian Complex to appear 'legitimate' while maintaining a fair share of shady dealings with other less than upstanding citizens of the station. There is nothing concrete and no charges have been brought against him.

There are a number of places on the station, and at least one in the asteroid belt, where ship owners can go to get their ships pimped. Materials in the system are less expensive than elsewhere and a good number of qualified mechanics have found operating in the system a lucrative venture.
