Missing Persons Report

::Missing/Potential Murder Investigation #2424DeltaIndigo::

Name: Marie Hummings

Gender: Female

Race: Humanoid Earthling

Age: 23

Description: (See attached photo)

Detail: Late last night while the husband – Jack Hummings – returned from work, he had found his and his wife's bedroom torn to pieces, as if it were searched vigorously. No stolen property was found.
A clear sign of a struggle – blood and hair cellular molecules located on the corner of the bed-side cabinet, trailing to the front door in large globules, suggesting that the victim's wife has been kidnapped – or murdered during the process of illegal infiltration of their home. The blood and hair suggests she may have been bludgeoned against the cabinet.
No fingerprints discovered. Several dead hair samples have otherwise been recovered for further analysis.
Husband detained for further inquiry.

Survivor - Alexan

The distress signal was broadcast strong and clear as the ancient freighter moved through the system. The ship had taken a beating in the recent attack. Shields were down, the hull suffered breaches along its surface mimicking something akin to swiss cheese, or maybe the acne riddled skin of a fourteen year old with a junkfood/chocolate addiction.

"Chayri! Get in the pod and head for the station! Now! The ship is going to blow!"

The child in the woman's arms screamed as she moved to the pod. The ship lurched and rocked as yet another support beam buckled. She fell, though managed to keep the child from being crushed. Behind her, the man had fallen and was pinned beneath the weight of the beam.

"Deroko!"

"No Chayri! Get in the pod! now!"

"I don't want to leave you!"

"Get him in the pod... I am lost. Go now!"

Chayri stood and ran to the pod, placing the child into the restraints and programmed the pod to dock with the station. Simultaneously she recorded a message to pass on.

"Whoever gets this, we were under attack by unknown ship... pirates. They wanted our cargo. They wouldnt' wait for our answer, just started firing on us.. we tried to run but no use.... now we are forced to abandon ship..it's breaking apart and will explode soon. I am Chayri Arrowny. My husband, Deroko is pinned under the fallen bulkhead. I am sending our son in this pod. His name is Alexan. Please take care of him! If we don't make it, take care of him.. please! Send....."

The ship shivered and groaned. Small explosions were occurring in the engine room. Chayri kissed her son quickly and backed out of the pod, sealing it shut. The lever was quickly pulled and the pod shot out from ship. The propulsion systems were engaged into auto pilot and the pod made it's way to Pharos Station.

Chayri ran back to her husband. She found the antigrav lifts, used to move heavy cargo, and struggled to get them set round the bulkhead. The ship convulsed with more small explosions but they both knew the big one was going to happen at any moment. They'd been carrying explosives for the Mines. Knowing this, Chayri worked hard to get the bulkhead to move, enough so that Deroko was able to pull himself out from underneath the wreakage. His leg was badly broken but the resolve of the tiny Chayri somehow gave her the strength to lift him up and carry him to the other pod.

It was only after they were safely in, belts strapped down, that they realized they were stuck. The pod had taken some damage and was wedged in. They weren't going anywhere. It was the last pod they had. Chayri and Deroko's ship, The Wayward Star, exploded, sending debris and the shockwave through the void of space...

Hours later, the pod arrived to the station, sending the Dock's area in a flurry as they opened the pod to find the child. EMT's were alerted as well as Security where protocols required. All was done in accordance with Station Rules and Regs.

The boy had minor cuts and bruises, dehydration but otherwise was okay.

((I will post this in Aristimos - whatever the name of that general board is - and anyone can jump in there if you wish. Or use whatever info to have fun with in your own stories. feel free to PM me. Have fun!))

Bulletin: Warning to Merchants

Over the past few weeks, there have been reports of merchant ships - mostly cargo and fuel freighters - disappearing in various systems en route to their destinations. No distress signals have been monitored coming from these ships, nor has any wreckage been found.

Merchants are advised to deploy or hire suitable escorts when conducting shipping operations.

Lurking Amongst The Rocks...

Strange energy signatures have as of late – for the last few months or so been animating from the asteroid belt itself, in a very particular sector. It is not known what it is exactly, but investigations into the deciphered modulated signal have shed some light on the mystery.

It may have been merely from an old broken distress call from one of the many derelict ships unfortunate enough to have crash landed against the one of many large floating rocks in the belt.

There is however a definite pattern of pulses in the signal – showing that it was no mere basic SOS call from a broken-up ship. It does end strangely in a static hiss, so further enquiry into the strange transmission has been dropped.

It appears a broken distress call in constant loop is of no concern to the authorities.

Fliers, Get your Fliers Here! Opportunities within.

The fliers and placards weren't large, weren't glaring, didn't flash, blink or make noise but they were geared to draw attention. And were placed in various parts of the station.
